Here is a great Free promotional offer for Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 2009 which you won’t find even at the official Kaspersky’s website. This version of Kaspersky is not for sale but it is provided for free by Computer Bild, one of the best selling German language computer magazine in Europe.This is exactly the same as Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 v8.0.0.504 except that it is re-branded to another name and uses German language interface. But we now know how to permanently change the Kaspersky Security Suite CBE German language to English.

1) Get you free license

• Go to this Promotional Offer page and fill up the form to register for an account at computerbild.de.

• Fill the form with a real email in order to receive your key.

• Check your email. You should get an email from ComputerBild with confirmation link to activate your account.

• Click on the confirmation link and check the second checkbox to request for the Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 09 license key and click the “Lizenzschlüssel anfordern” button.

• Check your email again and this time you will get an email containing the license key to activate Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 2009.

2) Install the program

• Download Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 2009 from here and install. If you feel a bit lost with the german interface, take a look to this video.

Now everything is in German.If you can understand German language, then you don’t really need to change the language to English. For others, continue the steps.

3) Change the default language to english

.

• After installation and Kaspersky Security Suite CBE 09 is running, click the Einstellungen button on the top right to bring up the settings window.

IMPORTANT I marked 2 items in the image: ‘Schnelle Suche’ (Quick Scan) and ‘Update’. Both message must to be showed like this image, they shows not activity. If you see some value near those texts (like 30%), that indicate KAS is working and the language change will fail if you try to do in this moment. You need to wait to this process end or stop or reset the pc.

• Click Parameter and uncheck Selbstschutz aktiveren. Click OK to close the Einstellungen window.

• Go to Start > Run, type regedit and click OK. Navigate to the following path in the Registry Editor:

• Look for Localization and double click to edit the string.

• Change the value data from de to en.

Update July 2009: Originally, this license was per 1 year, but they changed that recentrly. If you go to the license tab, you should see that the Kaspersky license validity period expires on 9/13/2009. Oh, this license key can ONLY be used on Kaspersky Security Suite CBE and not on either Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 or Kaspersky Antivirus 2009.
